England U17 Roberts signs pro deal with Fulham

Patrick Roberts has signed his first professional contract with Fulham.

The England U17 attacking midfielder, who turned 17 this week, has penned a contract keeping him at Craven Cottage until at least 2016.

Roberts was impressive for the Cottagers' U18s side that won the title last season and recently netted a hat-trick in Fulham's 3-2 FA Youth Cup win over Tottenham.

"Pat has made excellent progress and we're pleased with the performances he has been showing," academy director Huw Jennings told the club's official website.

"He knows that he has to continue to work hard, but if he shows the same application, desire and determination, there's no reason why he can't be very successful."
