England's senior team will be without four of its key players for Wednesday night's international friendly with Denmark in Copenhagen.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard already pulled out of the squad with a groin injury he picked up against Chelsea on Sunday whilst Manchester United defender and Three Lions captain Rio Ferdinand was not even named in the initially squad because of a calf problem. The absence of these two will force manager Fabio Capello to find a new captain.
Also missing will be Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster (who was likely to be on the bench for Joe Hart) and Tottenham striker Peter Crouch who has a great strike rate at international level. West Ham United's Robert Green and Carlton Cole have been called up to replace the injured pair.
Another playing out is three-time capped Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor who is yet to be replaced.
