England team boss Baldini in new Moggi row

England team manager Franco Baldini is in the Italian courts after alleged threats from disgraced former Juventus director Luciano Moggi.

Moggi is officially under investigation by the Rome district attorney for slander towards police chief Attilio Auricchio and threats against Baldini.

"Baldini and Auricchio should be ashamed of themselves," said Moggi on June 17 in the court.

"I am stunned that this all appears to be such a planned situation. There is no evidence against me, only talk.

"Baldini and Auricchio both said in court they did not know each other, then it emerged they had been meeting for over a month."

Moggi is also accused of making threats against former Roma director Baldini, who is now working with Fabio Capello as general manager of the England squad.

"I am tired of this situation," said Baldini to the judge before his testimony began in June.

"I was threatened by Moggi this morning before stepping into the court. He said to be 'Good morning, you piece of ****' and then with his finger pointed a few centimetres from my nose he added: 'You'll come to a sticky end if you keep going like this.'"
