A large portion of Fabio Capello's England squad left for Austria on Monday morning for the first of two altitude training camps.

24 players will link up in the small town of Irdning for the start of England's World Cup preparations with just FA Cup competitors David James, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole and the injured Gareth Barry the only players not present.

The Three Lions will return on Sunday for their friendly with Mexico on Monday and then return to Austria on Wednesday ahead of their friendly with Japan on May 30.
