England captain Steven Gerrard is backing Wayne Rooney to come out firing on Wednesday night but don't ask about his club future.
There have been some doubts regarding the Manchester United forward's fitness for the Wembley friendly with Scotland but Liverpool ace Gerrard feels he has prepared as well as ever.
However, Gerrard refused to be drawn on Rooney's future at Old Trafford.
"He's the same old Wayne Rooney, he's been scoring goals, and he's ready to play. He's prepared really well, he needs minutes for his personal fitness and I'm sure he itching to start," he told Sky Sports News.
"His future is none of my business. It is all about how he is feeling for Wednesday's game. I'm sure he will sort out the other problems for himself."
