England to schedule France, Spain, Germany, Holland fixtures - Hodgson

England manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that the FA will look to book fixtures against Europe's top teams in the lead-up to next year's European Championships.

The Three Lions are in pole position to qualify for Euro2016 which takes place in France next summer, having banked 15 points from their first five matches.

Hodgson's side has winnable clashes with Slovenia, San Marino and Switzerland to look forward to in June and September before matches against Estonia and Lithuania in October but will look to up the ante next year as soon as they secure their place in the UEFA tournament.

"We'll have four or five games before France, and each of those will be played against top-class opponents, we think," Hodgson said ahead of Tuesday's friendly with Italy in Turin.

"We have Germany, France, Spain and Holland in mind."
