England's Rooney expecting 'great test' from Scotland

Wayne Rooney believes England will be given a strong challenge from Scotland this week.

The Manchester United forward and his Three Lions teammates take on the Scots in Glasgow on Tuesday night and the England skipper is expecting a robust showing from Gordon Strachan's outfit.

"I think it will be a great test. I have obviously played here before in big nights and Champions League and you can see the atmosphere is really loud and intense," said Rooney.

"I have actually spoken to a few of the younger players just to make sure they are ready for the start of the game because if you are not ready it can take you by surprise.

"But I am sure we will be ready, be ready for the atmosphere, and it will be a big test for us."

Rooney will be making his 101st appearance for the Three Lions on Tuesday following his milestone match on Saturday when he scored from the penalty spot in the come-from-behind 3-1 Euro2016 qualifying win over Slovenia at Wembley.
