England's Hodgson not concerned about mindset of Man Utd's Rooney

England boss Roy Hodgson says he has no fears regarding Wayne Rooney and a potentially hostile crowd tomorrow night.

The Manchester United striker returns to the Three Lions' line-up for the final Group D fixture against co-hosts Ukraine in Donetsk after serving suspension but there concerns about his self-control after not playing for the past five weeks.

The fact that there will be a partisan crowd at the Donbass Arena may add to Rooney's anxiety but Hodgson insists the 26-year old will be fine.

"I am not concerned about Wayne going over the top. It is a good point to make but I am sure other people apart from myself will be keen to remind him what we want is a good team performance," Hodgson said.

"We want him to help us win a game of football. I have been very impressed with his attitude in training and I have no fears about him.

"People say he may be ring rusty but from what I have seen he is every bit as sharp as when he played his last game for Manchester United."
