England's Hodgson disappointed for Man City's Hart

Joe Hart remains on the bench for Manchester City after he was dropped from the Premier League side in late October.

The England number one has lost his place in Manuel Pellegrini's side to Romanian Costel Pantilimon and Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson admits it is not ideal from a national team standpoint.

However, he is supremely confident that Hart is the player who will work extra hard to get himself back into the reckoning at City.

"I'm disappointed for him because I know he wants to play," he told Sky Sports News.

"I believe he is an excellent goalkeeper but he has lost his place in the team at this moment in time.

"But I shall wait until much further down the road when it comes to selecting a group of players to go to Brazil before I start to get concerned about it.

"I just trust that the goalkeeper he is with the qualities he has will force his way back into the team."
