England qualify for U17 World Championship

England have qualified for the U17 World Championships in Chile.

After exiting the tournament in Bulgaria at the quarter-final stage, England needed to win Tuesday's play-off in order to make October's showpiece - and they were absolutely spot-on.

Coach John Peacock had to rally the troops after Russia ended their European title defence on Saturday but with a trip to South America at the back end of the year ample incentive, they did the business against a talented young Spain team.

With Marcus Edwards, Ike Ugbo, Chrissy Willock, Reece Oxford and Easah Suliman all converting their penalties, it was Leeds United goalkeeper Will Huffer who made the crucial save from Spain's Dani Almo.
