England players disappointed by Wales reaction - Man Utd star Rooney

Wayne Rooney insists the England national team players were slightly disappointed by the reaction of the Welsh team during Euro2016.

Wales players, including Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey and Tottenham Hotspur's Ben Davies, celebrated with gusto when Iceland scored against England in the Round of 16 of the European Championships.

The video was posted on various social media applications and although Rooney says the playing group as a whole was not bothered by it, he admits perhaps the Gunners and Spurs players in the Three Lions setup may have taken it to heart.

"We weren't taken aback, I think, but a bit disappointed, because some of the England players are club-mates with some of the Wales players," Rooney said.

"Personally I'm not, so I wasn't really too fussed.

"I said before the Euros that during the tournament I wasn't fussed what Wales or Ireland did. If they did well, good luck to them. If they didn't, I'm not really too bothered what they do.

"But for some of the lads who have club team-mates jumping around to celebrate their team-mates' failure, that was a bit disappointing."
