New England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Harry Redknapp has been in touch with him since he was unveiled by the Football Association today.
The West Bromwich Albion boss emerged as the number one target for the FA over the past 48 hours before officially signing to become the England boss today, beating Tottenham's Redknapp to the post.
But Hodgson has revealed that his Spurs counterpart has already contacted him to wish him the best in his new role which suggests there is no animosity between the two.
"He's sent me a voicemail message, which I'll reply to, and has been very gracious.
"We're great friends who have unwittingly become rivals, but we'll be friends again.""I've got great respect for Harry," Hodgson said.
