England keeps Euro2016 door ajar for Liverpool captain Henderson

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson remains a real chance of making Roy Hodgson's squad for this summer's Euro Championships, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old damaged his lateral collateral ligament in his knee in the Europa League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund last month and was initially expected to miss eight weeks, which would have ruled him out of the UEFA tournament in France.

However, Henderson has recovered faster than expected and started running last week in a bid to return to full training this week.

The former Sunderland man has set himself a target of proving his fitness before Hodgson names his 23-man squad for Euro2016 on Thursday and is even hoping to figure in Jurgen Klopp's plans for next week's Europa League final against Sevilla.
