England jump in FIFA rankings

England have jumped up a place to 14th in the latest FIFA international rankings.

Fabio Capello's side have overtaken Cameroon, who have dropped two places from 13th to 15th, despite not playing since their June 1 win over Trinidad and Tobago.

Spain remain top of the rankings after their Euro 2008 win while the team they beat in the final, Germany, have leapfrogged Italy to move into second.

Brazil's poor World Cup qualifying form has cost them two places in the rankings as they slip to 6th, their worst ranking for 15 years.

Scotland remain two places and 15 points behind England while Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland hold their places in 32nd and 41st respectively.

Wales are now placed between Saudi Arabia and Hungary in 51st position after moving up three places.
