England hero Beckham targets 2010 World Cup

Real Madrid star David Beckham is convinced he can play for England in the 2010 World Cup.

The Sun says England's comeback king will be 35 by then but reckons he could still to do a job for the Three Lions.

After starring in Wednesday's 3-0 Euro 2008 qualifier win in Estonia, Becks said: "I believe I can play for many, many years at the top level. A lot of things change but I feel I can go on."

The midfielder, who set up two goals against the Group E minnows, will join MLS side LA Galaxy from Spanish giants Real Madrid later this summer.

But he insists neither age nor the travelling back to Europe should get in the way of his amazing ambition of making the finals of four World Cups.

Steven Gerrard is certainly backing Becks for the Euro 2008 finals. The Liverpool midfield star, 27, said: "We want Becks at Euro 2008.

"If he keeps playing at the level he is now I don't see why he can't be at Euro 2008."
