Former England goalkeeper Gordon Banks believes Stoke City shot-stopper Jack Butland has what it takes to have a long and prosperous international career with the Three Lions.
Butland made his first start for England and kept a clean sheet in their 3-0 win over Lithuania in Euro 2016 qualifying on Monday night.
Banks, who also played for Stoke during his illustrious career, is confident it will be the first of many appearances by Butland in a Three Lions shirt.
"Without any question (current England number one) Joe Hart will be a little bit worried!," Banks said.
"I'm delighted for Jack. He's been playing marvellously and I'm a bit surprised he didn't start the last game with England already having qualified.
"You always get that feeling before a game for your country. The nerves never leave you. I got it all the time.
"I just hope he keeps learning along the way and he will get even better.
"It's great for England and for Stoke as well and I'd love him to follow in my footsteps."
