England go into U20 World Cup well undermanned

England go into the U20 World Cup undermanned.

England coach Brian Eastick was forced to select a squad who have little first team experience between them.

Just two of them, Middlesbrough's Jason Steele and Manchester City's Ben Mee, were involved in the squad that qualified for the tournament.

Premier League starlets Daniel Sturridge, James Tomkins, Dan Gosling, Fabian Delph, Kieran Gibbs and Scott Sinclair could have played but were not named in Eastick's line-up.

United and England striker Febian Brandy suffered an injury scare in training last night ahead of Saturday's opener against Uruguay.
