England coach Watson hails talent of nation's keepers

England goalkeeper Dave Watson is convinced of the quality of the nation's young shot-stoppers.

The Three Lions keeper coach believes No 1 stopper Joe Hart, of Manchester City, will be pushed all the way by Birmingham City's Jack Butland, 19, and Norwich City's John Ruddy, 25.

Watson said: "Joe has an excellent reputation. He is one of the best in the world and to compete with him will be difficult.

"But we have Jack who has just made his debut at 19 and we have John Ruddy who is experienced and at a good age.

"I know they won't be settling for one cap. They will want more.

"This will mean that Joe will have to raise the bar."
