Sunderland winger Adam Johnson is set for a fresh chance to win a place back in the England squad this weekend.
The Daily Mail says Johnson has the chance to become England's World Cup wildcard when Roy Hodgson watches him on Saturday with a view to rewarding him for his sensational run of form.
Hodgson is making his first trip to Sunderland as England manager to watch Johnson against Hull City, following his eight goals in as many games during their renaissance under Gus Poyet.
Johnson, 26, scored Sunderland's second goal at St James' Park against rivals Newcastle United.
