England coach Roy Hodgson is delighted with the attitude of his senior players like Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard and Chelsea's Ashley Cole.

Hodgson will name his men on Thursday for the qualifying double-header against San Marino and Poland.

Hodgson said: "The senior players like Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole all enjoyed Euro 2012 as much as they enjoyed previous tournaments.

"They've retained their hunger and appetite for going to the next one.

"Let's hope we can get to the next tournament because then we will show the world we are an even better team than we showed in the last one."
