England coach Roy Hodgson has defended Liverpool's sports shrink Dr Steve Peters.

Peters has come in for criticism as England's World Cup hopes quickly vanished this past fortnight.

But Hodgson confirmed he will take Peters to Euro 2016 if England qualify for the tournament.

"He's been very, very good," Hodgson said. "He hasn't played a major part in terms of global team talks - what he has done is he's been very good with individual players."
