England coach Roy Hodgson will make a check on Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on Tuesday against Capital One Cup opponents Chelsea.

The 20-year-old, who is expected to make his eagerly awaited comeback in Saturday's clash against Queens Park Rangers, is set to make his first start in Tuesday's Capital One Cup clash against the Royals.

The Daily Mail says Hodgson is planning on attending the clash at the Madejski Stadium to cast his eye over Wilshere next week.

England's next fixture is a friendly against Sweden on November 14 and it remains to be seen if Hodgson, who has already identified Wilshere as a key player in his England blueprint, will select the Arsenal midfielder for the clash.
