England coach Roy Hodgson enjoyed a swipe at Montenegro FA president Dejan Savicevic after Friday's win.
Hodgson admitted he was taking a "cheap shot" at the AC Milan and Yugoslavia legend.
He said: "I was irritated with him while in Montenegro, as he suggested to me that the English players do not care about the shirt and they just care about themselves.
"While the Montenegrins, he said, throw themselves into everything.
"It was a complete load of rubbish but as we played badly during the second half there - and as they got a 1-1 draw - I had to swallow that.
"But he might be changing his opinion after watching our players swarm all over his team on Friday night.
"Every time we lost the ball, we got it back very quickly.
"I didn't say anything to him - I've just taken a cheap shot!"
