England coach Roy Hodgson has reportedly told fans that Manchester United veteran Rio Ferdinand is not on his radar.
Hodgson told fans on a London tube train on their way to watch Arsenal's Champions League game at the Emirates last night that Ferdinand had reached the 'end of the road.'
He made the revelations when asked if he would include the Manchester United defender when he names his squad for the World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland today.
Hodgson is reported as saying: "I very much doubt it. He hasn't played for England for quite a while.
"I have to say it is over for him and England. It has got to be the end of the road. He is pushing 34 and hasn't played for England for a long, long time."
