England coach Capello wants to beat Germany, France in World Cup
England coach Fabio Capello wants to beat France in this year's World Cup.
Capello last night declared his ambition to lead England to World Cup final victory over France - after defeating Germany.
England coach Capello said: "The perfect scenario for me would be for England to beat Germany in the semi-finals, and then to win the World Cup by defeating France in the final.
"It is high time that a European team wins the World Cup outside Europe. In my opinion there are four very strong European sides, and this time they will not have the excuse of there being a change of time zone.
"The usual suspects like Brazil and Argentina will be faced with this problem, even though they will still have to be reckoned with.
"I am also on my guard about the African teams. Algeria are the most dangerous side in our group.
"Being England coach is a challenge. But I would not have taken it on if I did not think I had the desire and the broad shoulders to do it.
"I love the pressure, and trying to win the World Cup with this England team is the greatest challenge of my professional career."
