England coach Fabio Capello was full of praise for goalkeeper Joe Hart after their victory over Bulgaria.
The Manchester City keeper produced a super stop in the first half to prevent an embarrassing Glen Johnson own goal.
Then he denied Ivelin Popov when the Bulgarian looked certain to score on the hour. Within 14 seconds, Jermain Defoe had slotted home No 2.
Hart's heroics did not end there as he also thwarted sub Dimitar Rangelov late on.
His performance made a mockery of Capello's decision not to select him for any matches in the World Cup and the Italian's mood visibly changed when asked whether he regretted that call.
He said: "The past is the past. Joe Hart's playing very well. He made two fantastic saves. Also against Hungary he did the same.
"He's the England goalkeeper and I chose him. He's now playing very well."
