Wayne Rooney captained England in what was a very emotional night for football on Tuesday.
The Three Lions took on France at Wembley Stadium just days after the senseless Paris terror attacks which killed 129 people and injured hundreds more.
Both nations came together in a show of unity, standing together to pose for photos and observing a minute's silence around the centre of the pitch prior to kick-off.
Rooney scored in the 2-0 win, along with Three Lions youngster Dele Alli, and was quick to reflect on the sentimental match via his Twitter page.
Special night tonight. Through football we showed togetherness and unity. Both teams & sets of fans were brilliant pic.twitter.com/NtL9ojGkCJ
