England manager Roy Hodgson admitted he was delighted with the performance of Joe Hart in Tuesday night's friendly defeat at the hands of Germany.
The Three Lions lost 1-0 at Wembley - their second defeat in a row following Friday's 2-0 loss to Chile - but it was the assured display of Manchester City's Hart who had recently been dropped by both Hodgson and club boss Manuel Pellegrini.
"I am delighted for him. He has come under a lot of criticism recently, so I was delighted he has repaid everyone's faith in him," said Hodgson.
"We have always thought he was our goalkeeper and tonight I think he has proved that. He wasn't snowed under, but he did have some very important saves to make."
