Reports suggest that Roy Hodgson is unsure if he will call Wayne Rooney into his England squad for next week's friendly with Scotland.
The Three Lions host the Scots at Wembley on Wednesday, August 14 but Manchester United's Rooney may not be included as he has struggled for game time so far this pre-season.
The 27-year old missed United's trip to Asia and Australia with a hamstring problem and is almost certain to be sidelined for Rio Ferdinand's testimonial against Sevilla on Friday and the Community Shield against Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
