England manager Roy Hodgson will make some interesting selections for the upcoming friendly against Italy according to assistant coach Gary Neville.
The Three Lions take on the Azzurri in Berne next week with reports suggesting Hodgson may include the likes of Ryan Bertrand, Tom Cleverley and Jack Rodwell.
Neville stopped short of revealing the types of players Hodgson will be selecting but did hint that there could be a few surprises in the England line-up.
"Roy Hodgson was very clear that he would always use friendlies to have a look at people he hadn't seen before or to develop new ideas," said the former Manchester United captain.
"He has good ideas about what he wants to do with this friendly. It is the only environment he will have to look at people.
"But they have to be the right players and they have to be ready."
