England boss Capello relying on wide men against Montenegro

England manager Fabio Capello says his wingers need to be on top of their game when they take on Montenegro in Euro2012 qualifying tonight.

The Italian is expected to give a start to Tottenham centre-forward Peter Crouch as well as wingers Adam Johnson from Manchester City and Ashley Young of Aston Villa.

Capello is well aware that Crouch is a completely different player to Jermain Defoe and Darren Bent and has identified both Johnson and Young as the men who can bring the big Spurs frontman into the game.

"The style is completely different between Crouch and Bent or Defoe," he said.

"The other two players, not Crouch, are about movement going forward. Crouch prefers to receive the ball and doesn't have a lot of pace.

"But I think we can play different styles. The movement of the other players will be very important.

"Some players, the wingers, will be very important now. They have to cross the ball.

"They will be really important, both of them. They play in a position on the pitch that is important.

"When we win the ball they have to try to dribble, to attack the space. They may be inexperienced but that is not a concern. The confidence of Adam is good and he's now played three or four games for England. Young has also played very well in a couple of games."
