England boss Capello: Man Utd's Rooney in magic moment

England boss Fabio Capello branded the free-scoring form of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney as "magic" after their 3-1 victory over Belarus.

Capello said: "With Heskey and Rooney, the movement of both is very good. They are quick, they are strong and they know how to play good football together very well.

"Rooney can play forward, he can play on the left or the right. He's a very important player for us and is playing very well.

"He is having a magic time at the moment, but not only Rooney, because Heskey and Gerrard played very well. We suffered at times, but we played like a team.

"Belarus played well and it's not easy to play against them, but we were compact. We played like a group. When it was possible, we played very well.

"They are a good team and they played very well in that first half, causing us problems in midfield. In the second half, we played much better. Belarus pressed us a lot in the first half and expended a lot of energy. They drew with Argentina and Germany and lost in the last minute with a penalty in Ukraine."
