England boss Capello has goalkeeper concerns

Fabio Capello admits he was forced to reinstate David James because there is a dearth of other England goalkeeping options.

The 37-year-old keeper has been in outstanding form for Portsmouth this season but there are doubts that he will still be an option for the World Cup in 2010.

Capello has not been overly impressed with Paul Robinson, Scott Carson, Chris Kirkland or Robert Green, though Manchester City's Joe Hart is an early favourite.

"Only 38 percent of the players in the Premier League are English. The pool is reduced. I have had to reinstate a 37-year-old goalkeeper but I have spotted one in the Under-21s who is very interesting," said Capello.
