New England boss Sam Allardyce is keen to build bridges with Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger - and other Premier League bosses - to ensure England players are released for international duty, reports the London Evening Standard.
But the duo's feisty relationship has cooled in recent times and Allardyce wants to work with Wenger as he attempts to take the Three Lions forward.
"We've got to try to help each other if we possibly can," Allardyce said of Wenger. "It won't always be the case.
"The demands on Premier League managers and demand on me as England manager is bound to cause some conflict down the line because the pressures are far greater than ever before.
"I think we suffered more sackings than ever before. I think 56 managers left the clubs out of 92. One hundred coaches left the job in one season.
"So they are bound to want to protect their players and that is what I have to try to overcome with a little bit of give and take, hopefully," he added.
