Emre insists he's committed to Newcastle

Newcastle midfielder Emre has insisted he is going nowhere after months of speculation over his future.

Rumours were rife that the 27-year-old Turkey international would leave Tyneside during the summer with former club Galatasaray among his suitors.

But Emre, who has three years remaining on his contract at St James' Park, is adamant he is staying put.

He said: "I don't know who has spoken about my future because I have not said anything.

"When I was out for four months with an injury, I didn't speak about my future. I never speak to Turkish journalists, but they seem to know everything. "When I was out injured, everyone spoke about my future, but I didn't say anything.

"I have some problems with Turkish journalists, and I didn't say anything.

"I would like to stay at Newcastle. I'm very happy to play for Newcastle - I like the supporters and I like the city.

"I have three more years on my contract with Newcastle, and I need to say again to the supporters that I didn't say anything."
