Emre Can prefers non-English opponent for Liverpool

Liverpool star Emre Can has revealed that he would prefer not to play against an English side during the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Reds reached the quarter-finals of Europe's Premier club competition this season for the first time in nine years following their 5-0 aggregate win over FC Porto on Tuesday.

There could be as many as five clubs in the last eight of this seasons Champions League, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City also in the running.

Speaking after the game against Porto on Tuesday, which ended 0-0, Can revealed that he would prefer not to play against an English team during the next round. "I think you are wrong if you play a Champions League game and you don't find motivation," he said. "I think it was OK, we did our job and we are through the round. I prefer to not play an English team, but I don't care who."
