One of Emre Can's former mentors is delighted over his move to Juventus.

Juventus announced on Thursday that departing Liverpool midfielder Can has put pen to paper on a bumper four-year deal at the Allianz Stadium.

One of Can's first ever coaches, Toni Magliarisi, has now revealed the club he told the midfielder not to join when calling time on his Liverpool career.

"[Can] always knew that if he went to Juventus, I would have been the happiest man on Earth, but I told him that he had to make the best choice for his career, so never go to Inter [Milan]," said Magliarisi.

"Seriously, last year I told him that he was not ready for Juventus, now he is 110 per cent."
