Brett Emerton has been cleared to play for Sydney FC against Adelaide United in the A-League this weekend.
The former Blackburn Rovers ace picked up a thigh injury in last weekend's loss to Brisbane Roar and although he failed to finish training twice this week, he will be at Hindmarsh Stadium on Saturday night.
Sky Blues boss Vitezslav Lavicka is banking on Emerton to guide the Sydney players to a positive result although he is unsure of where the Socceroos star will play.
"He (Emerton) arrived one week before we started the season, so he needs more and more time to settle but I trust him and I trust the players and we all believe we can perform better and get better results too," he said.
"We'll see on Saturday (where he'll play) but, at this moment, I would prefer to keep him in the same position as we did last weekend.
"We just need better work in that last part ... Brett is able to do it easily. It doesn't matter if he is on the right centre or the left midfield."
