Brett Emerton cannot wait for his first A-League match for Sydney FC on home soil.
The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder made his Sky Blues debut in the scoreless draw with Melbourne Victory last week and is now waiting to take on reigning A-League champions Brisbane Roar at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday.
Socceroos star Emerton hopes that the Sydney fans turn out in droves to help support the team and is confident that the players are up for getting a positive result against a very good Roar outfit.
"It's obviously exciting to be back here playing and for my first game at home here in Sydney," he said.
''It should be a great game. Brisbane are the defending champions and look like being one of the teams to beat this season.
''There's no denying that when we get a good crowd in, there's great support, especially from The Cove. I've witnessed that when I played here with my old club Blackburn, so I'm expecting it to be a good atmosphere.
"Hopefully they come out and support us and we can repay them with a good performance."
