Former Fulham midfielder Simon Elliot has signed with San Jose Earthquakes. Elliott says the process to sign a full time contract has taken a while. He says they had to deal with his former team in America, but he is looking forward to the challenge now it has been settled.

Elliott says he will still head to Thailand later this month with New Zealand, despite it coinciding with the opening rounds of the MLS.
