Rob Elliot wants to commit himself to Newcastle United by signing a new contract.
According to the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old goalkeeper believes his recent form for the Magpies deserves an improved deal.
Elliot was on the outer at St James' Park in the summer and started the season as third-choice behind Tim Krul and Karl Darlow but has grasped his chance with both hands while the pair were sidelined with injury.
The former Charlton Athletic gloveman was Man of the Match in the weekend's 2-1 win at Tottenham and also kept a clean sheet the weekend prior against Liverpool.
Elliot is contracted with Newcastle until 2019 but still reportedly wants a new deal so he can continue to be a key figure in the north east as well as put forward his case for a starting spot in Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland side for Euro2016 and beyond.
