Tottenham have confirmed that an 81-year-old fan died after suffering a heart attack at White Hart Lane during Tuesday's 1-0 defeat of West Bromwich Albion.
"We have since received confirmation that he later died in hospital.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time."
Spurs striker Jermain Defoe led the tributes on Twitter, writing: "RIP to [the] Spurs fan that sadly passed away at Tuesday night's game. Condolences to all his family!"
"The club can confirm that an 81-year-old male fan suffered a heart attack at last night's Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion," a spokesman told Press Association Sport.
