Elano doesn't care about Eriksson's Man City future

Elano says he couldn't care less if Manchester City sack manager Sven Goran Eriksson.

"Like everybody else, I have the internet and follow what's going on," he told the Guardian. "We all have a responsibility to Eriksson but, whoever is manager, we have to do our best. It won't make any difference to me personally."

Elano did later say that he would be "sorry to see him go" but the only reason he offered was that Eriksson was always willing to listen if he had a complaint.

"I have always been free to express myself to him and explain my worries. But whether he will be here or not is not up to me. It's somebody else's responsibility."

The midfielder then went on to query Eriksson's 4-2-3-1 formation, saying he would prefer the team to play with two forwards, and he admitted being "unhappy" with some of the manager's other decisions.

Elano has blamed his loss of form on being played on the left of midfield.

"It's not my position," he said. "My strengths are not to tackle and compete for the ball. I have had a chat with the manager because I wasn't happy."
