Chris Wood feels it is vitally important that the New Zealand national team try to put all the stress aside and enjoy their trip to Mexico.
The All Whites are on their way to Mexico City from Los Angeles to prepare for Wednesday's (Thursday morning AEDT) World Cup playoff first leg against El Tri at the Azteca Stadium and will attempt do so under extreme duress from the locals.
The Mexico Football Federation contacted every forum, supporter network and fan site they could notifying them of the Kiwis' arrival time in order to supply the visitors with a hostile reception but Leicester City striker Wood says they simply have to enjoy whatever comes their way ahead of an enormous match for the island nation.
"Going into Mexico was always going to be a challenge," said Wood.
"But it is also a great occasion and we have to try to enjoy the moment."
The All Whites tackle the Mexicans on foreign soil before hosting them in the return leg in Wellington on November 20.
