El Shaarawy upbeat over AC Milan return date

AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy hopes to be back before the end of the season.

El Shaarawy is recovering from a foot injury.

"I'm very happy with how my check-up went," El Shaarawy revealed.

"The doctors told me it couldn't have been better. The injuries I had were small, but annoying. I'm glad to be back running.

"This week I'll also return to using the ball. It's a wonderful feeling. To have been out for almost three months was a bad thing.

"I'm glad I've already done a few dribbles, I was missing it.

"I hope to recover within three weeks, to get my stamina and condition back. I'm confident for the final months of the season.

"We hope to get enough points to qualify for the Europa League, and my goal is to help the team.

"I'm trying to recover as soon as possible, I hope I can help out when I return. I'm training every day to get back as soon as possible."
