Stephan El Shaarawy is delighted to now be seeing regular action at AC Milan.

The midfielder insists he never considered leaving last month, despite rumours to the contrary.

"I want to stay at Milan for some time to come," the Italian Under-21 international told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I never wanted to leave when I wasn't playing," he added. "There are so many champions here that I was learning so much from them in training."

The forward, who spent last season on loan at Padova in Serie B, is seen as a potential star of the future.

"Given my characteristics and technique, I feel a bit like Robinho," continued the 19-year-old. "When it comes to speed and breaking into space, I'm a bit like Alexandre Pato."
