El Salvador midfielder Ceren joins Orlando City

Orlando City SC has announced the signing of El Salvador international Darwin Ceren.

The 24-year old midfielder has become the third signing for the Lions since they were granted the 21st MLS license late last year.

Ceren, who is a holding midfielder, has been with homeland club Juventud Independiente since 2009 but will now make the move to the USA, pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.

"We're extremely delighted that Darwin is joining us as our third MLS signing," Orlando City President Phil Rawlins said of Ceren.

"We fought very hard to get him here, as several other MLS clubs were also interested. We believe that he is a great prospect for the future and a special thanks to his agent, Gonzalo Clavijo, for being so helpful in getting this deal finalized."

Ceren joins Cuban midfielder Yordany Alvarez, who has joined on an initial loan from Real Salt Lake, and Trinidad & Tobago international Kevin Molino as Orlando's MLS signings thus far.
