Karim El Ahmadi is concerned over Aston Villa's start to the season.
El Ahmadi is yet to experience a victory in the Premier League after defeat to Everton.
The Moroccan midfielder said: "We are going backwards instead of forwards."
Summer signing El Ahmadi, 27, netted from 25 yards to give Villa some consolation.
But he admitted their performance was a frustrating one for him.
He said: "We were a bit scared in the first half. We were nervous and at home you have to dominate the game and pressurise teams. We didn't do that. It was frustrating, I was asking for the ball but there were still a lot of long balls.
"We weren't happy, Everton have good players on the ball but we still didn't have to concede those goals."
And he admitted boss Paul Lambert was an angry man.
He added: "That's normal, I can understand that, everyone knows what we did wasn't good."
