Eintracht Frankfurt's Nikolov on verge of New York move

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Oka Nikolov is reportedly close to a move to MLS club New York Red Bulls.

The 35-year old Macedonia international was linked with a move to New York which was dismissed by club sporting director Erik Soler but is has since been reported on German website IVZ-Online.com that he has rejected a two-year contract Eintracht and is seriously considering a healthy offer from the Red Bulls.

"Mr. Nikolov has informed us that he will not accept the offer to extend his contract by two years and that he wants to go to the U.S.," Eintracht executive chairman Heribert Bruchhagen told IVZ-Online.

Nikolov has been with Frankfurt since 1994 and has appeared for the club more than 300 times. He has also represented the Macedonia national team on a handful of occasions.
