Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Omar Mascarell insists he would be good enough for Real Madrid if he returns this summer.
Real are considering re-signing Mascarell for next season.
The former Derby County midfielder told AS: "That news was huge here. Everyone found out, it came out everywhere in Germany. It was a big boom.
"It's something that has sounded a lot in recent times. I know that my representative is in contact with Real Madrid and they are talking to each other. But there are two months of competition left and I have to be focused on Eintracht.
"But what I can say is that I have a special affection for Madrid, it is my team, where they developed me and for me Madrid will always be the best option."
He added: "The Omar of now has nothing to do with the one that played in Spain. I have grown a lot football, physically ... In all aspects I have improved. Honestly I am able to play for Madrid."
